What is different about Christmas in Lisbon?
November is counting its last few days. Scarves find their way back to the accessory repertoire. Radiator makes creaking sounds being wheeled in to the living room, because, let's be honest - Portugal is not ready for the winter season. It is, however, successfully getting ready for Christmas! If you ever visited Berlin, Vienna or even London in December you would agree with me that these guys know how to make it festive. Lisbon is a little different. Even though the shopping centres and little streets walking down to Chiado announce the beginning of gift-buying season with light garlands and beautiful decorations, this town doesn't seem to go crazy over the commercial hype. The true meaning of Christmas is more present here, and it's not the material one. So we would like to join in and celebrate our first Natal with you - in giving each other gifts that last.
