We say you go girls! And here at SkillsGorilla, we celebrate them everyday. Meet some of our amazing founders & educators. They’re badass.
Besides her family and her 2 cats, Ana’s 2 big passions are food and educating.
“I’m passionate about cooking and training! Only close to being 30 years old I finally had the courage to risk everything and throw myself head-first into the kitchen world. I do not regret it 1 minute! I have already participated in amazing projects and I continue to learn every day. Now I’m fully dedicated with all my heart to a dream come true, the Lisbon Cooking Academy.”
She was born in Los Angeles in 1976. From ballet classes and tap dance to copying the dance moves in the old movies on TV, dancing is her passion since early days. Abeth believes that learning is something that happens throughout life. She continually invests in professional training in American vintage dances.

Flow MMA Cascias was founded by Carol Paterson-Smith and David Smith. After years of working in the investment banking industry and being under a tremendous amount of stress, Carol felt that her health was seriously effected and decided to take a break from the intensive lifestyle. She has succeeded in developing a friendly, pleasant and highly professional space recommended by many. See for yourself – you may find your better self there!
Carolina has been dancing for as long as she can remember herself. After graduating with Bachelors degree specialising in contemporary dance, she soon discovered pole dancing. Having studied in Netherlands and moved to Lisbon, Carolina was searching for a new challenge in her life – and there it was!
“Dancing is like learning a new language. You start with basic words until you can build sentences and finally you are writing poems. In other words, you teach your body to speak.”
Beginning her yoga practice in 2010, Zoe traveled extensively through Europe, Australia, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. During that time she was building her experience and understanding of the benefits of yoga not only for herself, but those who choose to practice with her. All of her yoga practices incorporate philosophy for the body, mind and spirit helping you along your journey on and off the yoga mat.
Adrienn Gárdos-Bobião, the woman with a dream who made it happen and now run wonderful painting workshops in LX Factory. With a strong background in business management and TV production, Adrienn realized she did not feel at home in the corporate world. She dropped everything to create this little magical world where anyone can be an artist.
“We want to help people discover the artist that is already inside them while gifting them with a powerful moment of liberation from the binding routines of everyday life. This is the mission that pushes us forward.”
Casa do Azulejo was opened by Ana Dominguez, who, despite being a kindergarten teacher, had a dream of creating a space where she could give vent to her other passions: pottery and ceramic Portuguese tiles. Seeing people enjoy her workshops makes her happy.

Lisbon Mosaic Studio is a happy place for many travellers and locals. Eileen made it happen years ago and her lovely studio is praised by those who give it a try.
“I have been creating and teaching mosaics in Lisbon for 20 years. I came to Lisbon from USA for a 9 month contract (2 decades ago) and never left! Since then I have done many mosaic exhibitions and workshops in Europe and US. I love teaching this delicious age-old art form. I find it the Ultimate Zen Creative Therapy.”
Caterina Pontes has a degree in Physical Fitness and Health from the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies, specializing in Exercise, Health, Bodybuilding and Fitness. She also specializes in Personal Training and Nutrition, Pilates and Aquatic Activity. At the end of 2014, she completed her training in Yoga by the Integral Yoga Association of Portugal and completed the training of Manipulative and Osteopathic Techniques at the Institute of Health Technology. Wow!
